2"x2"x3" Block Project

This week I started my block project. I learned how to use the hoist to pick up heavy material and parts. To start my project I had to take a metal bar off of the top rack. I first did all the measurements to figure out exactly how much the bar weighed and then I had to figure out the right equipment to lift the bar. I did this by reading the warning tags on the straps. Here is a picture of me doing this.

Next I started my cut, which needed to be three inches. One of my class mates teached me how to use the saw.I learned how to adjust the speed accordingly. And things to watch for such as the flakes coming out from the sides the smoke making sure it does not come out excessively and to spray it with some solution as needed. Here is a picture of this.

Finshed product.

Next I began to do measurements to as where I will be putting the helicoil and gard insert. And finding the middle. Here is a picture of the gard insert

This week that is far as I got with that project I finished up my wrench and couple other assignments. Next week I will be finished up with the block.
