Blog #2 Finishing up my wrench

This week I feel like I got a lot done. My wrench is about 98% done. I started over due to my first wrench being to big and my cutting skills showed no knowledge. So I got a new piece of metal this one needed a lot more work due to the amount of rust on it. But that was not a problem I learned how fill very good from the help of my instructor I leaned how to take out all cruves, holes, or marks from my cutting. All surfaces were working and made nice. I learned how to size my wrench to the 2 inch nut. I used the vice i tightened the wrench with the nut in it so it fit perfectly. Making a wrench I gained a lot of knowledge about how to cut with the torche and setting the flame. And lastly how to use the drill press to make a  hole in my wrench.
This picture shows the filling work I did on the right is my new wrench on the left is my first wrench that I trashed.

Finished product on the left and the first wrench on the right.

Learned how to write my last name in metel with a engraver.

Blog #1 Bold Cutting And Beginning The Wrench

The first week was exciting we got a idea of what the program really is going to be about and how the professor Jeff Curtis likes to teach. We did three main things one of which was bolt cutting and stretching them. I did about 8-10 bolts broke some, others I did not break just stretched them to the limit. My first class A bolt I had to cut out with a hacksaws, I attempted to break it but instead I got the bolt stuck on there pretty good.

The next thing I did was the engine service: cummins worksheet.
I learned how to use the website fairly well except the last question the correct answer is 6.

The last thing I accomplished this week was my wrench cut out. I got it all drawn up then I cut it out with a torch cutting tool. I practiced for about two days trying to cut straight lines and working on setting the flame correctly. Here are some pictures...
